You're reading: Tymoshenko trial enters final stage

The Pechersky District Court in Kyiv has completed the judicial inquiry into the gas case against ex-Prime Minister and Batkivschyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko.

"The court has examined all the requests filed through the court’s chancellery, regarding the judicial inquiry," presiding Judge Rodion Kireyev said at a court session on Thursday.

The trial has thus entered its final stage – the court debates, following which the judges will retire to a deliberating room for delivering a verdict.

"We refuse from any participation. Deliver the verdict, for God’s sake," Tymoshenko told the court on Thursday.

The court has adjourned the case hearing until September 12 to prepare for the court debates.
