Ukraine and Romania are planning to open more checkpoints on their joint border, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko has said after talks with his Romanian counterpart Teodor Baconschi.

"We have discussed issues that directly concern the interests of ordinary Ukrainians and Romanians. The issues concern, in particular, the drafting of a number of agreements, including those related to the opening of new crossing points across the Ukrainian-Romanian border, as well as cooperation in the sphere of environmental protection, which is fundamentally important for our border regions," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday.

Earlier today Romanian Foreign Minister Teodor Baconschi has said that Romania has no territorial claims against Ukraine.
