You're reading: French ambassador for human rights to meet with Tymoshenko on Jan. 18-19

France's Ambassador for Human Rights Francois Zimeray will visit Ukraine on Jan. 18-19, the French Embassy in Ukraine has reported.

The ambassador asked the relevant Ukrainian authorities to be allowed to meet with former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who is being held in the Kachanivska penal colony in Kharkiv.

On Wednesday, Jan. 18, at 14.30, he will speak to journalists opposite the building of the Kachanivska penal colony.

Zimeray was appointed ambassador for human rights in 2008. He is a former lawyer and a former MEP. He also was a member of the Paris Bar and the International Bar Association.
