You're reading: Former Defense Minister Yezhel appointed presidential adviser

Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Yezhel has been appointed an adviser to the Ukrainian president.

A decree to that effect, dated Feb. 24, has been posted on the Web site of the head of state.

On Feb. 8, 2012, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych dismissed Yezhel as Ukraine’s defense minister and appointed Dmytro Salamatin in place of him.

Earlier, the Mirror Weekly. Ukraine newspaper, citing its own sources, reported that Yezhel had been appointed a presidential adviser and head of the main department for security and defense policy at the presidential administration.
