The leadership of Kachanivska Penal Colony No. 54 in Kharkiv has allowed former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko to have a three-day meeting with her mother and daughter from March 9 to March 11, 2012, the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine reported on Thursday.

"In accordance with current Ukrainian legislation, the prisoner has the right to have such a long meeting with close relatives once every three months. The meeting is held in a special room in which visitors could live together with the convict for no more than three days," reads the statement.

According to the service, the ex-premier filed a respective written request to the leadership of the penal colony, in which she is currently imprisoned, on February 25.

"Following the consideration of the prisoner’s request, the leadership of Kachanivska Penal Colony No. 54 granted permission for Tymoshenko to have a long meeting with her mother and daughter," the service said.
