You're reading: Prison doctors say Tymoshenko gradually moving more

Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko "had no complaints, the patient's condition has not deteriorated, and she is moving around the room using a walking frame, gradually extending her moving regime," he press office of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine reported on Monday,March 26.

The statement also says that Tymoshenko has again refused to undergo treatment and medical examinations by doctors from the medical unit of Kachanivska Penal Colony No. 54.

"On March 24, the colony’s doctors drafted two documents on Tymoshenko’s refusal to undergo a proposed checkup, as well as the measurement of body temperature and blood pressure," reads the document.

Kyiv’s Pechersky District Court sentenced Tymoshenko to seven years in prison on abuse of office charges in a signing a gas deal with Russia in 2009. Kyiv’s Court of Appeal upheld the verdict. She is currently serving a sentence in the Kachanivska penal colony in Kharkiv.
