Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has thanked world leaders and international organizations for their support.

Her daughter Yevhenia said this during a political talk show Maybrit Illner on Germany’s ZDF Channel, the press service of the Batkivschyna party reported.

"My mother thanks the governments of Germany, Chancellor Angela Merkel, Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament Elmar Brok for their support to opposition forces, she also expresses gratitude to many international organizations, the European Parliament, the Council of Europe. We witness democracy being killed in Ukraine, and this should be a signal for the democratic world to awaken," Yevhenia Tymoshenko said.

The ex-premier’s daughter said that since Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych came to power people had been living in fear.

"The president’s supporters took control over all the areas of society, judicial system, everything. Anyone can fall in disgrace with the regime and end up in prison," she said.

In addition, Tymoshenko said that the health of her mother, who hasn’t been eating for two weeks, has deteriorated.

"I saw her today, she is getting worse. She hasn’t been eating for too weeks… her back pain has increased. Now she is almost unable to move, she is lying down all the time, feeling very weak. But her spirits are very strong," Yevhenia Tymoshenko said.
