You're reading: Lukashenko, Tymoshenko hoping to strengthen relations between two states

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko hope for the strengthening of the relations between the two states.

They announced this at a joint meeting in Kyiv on Thursday.

"My heart is in Ukraine, this is a very close country and we are also close peoples… I feel a warm atmosphere, I feel at home here," the Belarusian president said.

Besides, Lukashenko wished Tymoshenko strength and success in all her plans.

The Ukrainian premier in turn stressed that the economic relations between the two states are speedily developing and expressed hope that this tendency will continue in the future.

"The country (Ukraine) is living through a very hard political situation, but we still hope that everything will change in a few months," Tymoshenko added.

The premier said that the opposition should be strong, as well as the authorities.
