Yanukovych: Regions Party not in talks on creation of new coalition, 'technical' government'
Nov 19, 2009 at 13:22 | Interfax-Ukraine"Of course, we have not held and are not holding any talks on this issue and we did not set the goal of forming a government or replacing the authorities," he said at a meeting with regional reporters in Kyiv on Nov. 19.
Yanukovych said that the Regions Party is not planning to form "any coalition in this parliament."
He said that the main thing the Regions Party wants to know is whether the government will implement laws.
"If the government does not implement laws, then let it go," Yanukovych said.
Commenting on Verkhovna Rada Vice Speaker Mykola Tomenko's statement that the Regions Party and the Presidential Secretariat are allegedly planning to create a "technical" government, he said that this statement was untrue.
"I've heard many fables of such kind from the representatives of the orange team over the last five years. They are very talented in the art of creating fables," he said.
