The election headquarters of presidential candidate Yulia Tymoshenko is preparing for attacks against presidential candidate Victor Yanukovych with the goal of decreasing his popularity ratings, the Regions Party has said.

"The goal of a project headed by [First Vice Premier] Oleksandr Turchynov is to compromise at any price Viktor Yanukovych is the eyes of voters and decrease his ratings. A number of special operations have been drawn up to achieve this goal. One of them is to involve Berkut special reaction force officers dressed in civilian clothes, who, under the cover of MPs Bondarenko [Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko MP Volodymyr Bondarenko] and Aryev [Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense MP Volodymyr Aryev], are to break into to the territory of the Mezhyhirya nature reserve, where there’s a house in which presidential candidate Viktor Yanukovych lives," the party said in a statement posted on its Web site on Tuesday.

The party said that according to the scenario of this operation, after the penetration of a group of 200 people, Berkut officers and MPs are planning to lead a thousand individuals headed by BYT MP Anatoliy Semynoha into the territory where Yanukovych lives.

According to the party, Aryev, who should ensure the media coverage of the event, "should do all he can so that it is reported on TV that allegedly the whole territory of Mezhyhirya belongs to Victor Yanukovych."

The Regions Party asked the Ukrainian president, the Prosecutor General’s Office, international observers, law enforcers, the Ukrainian and international community to make a proper legal assessment of "extremist actions" of Tymoshenko’s election headquarters.
