Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko leads the rating of top 200 most influential Ukrainians drawn up by Focus magazine, the acting chief editor of the magazine, Kateryna Hlazkova, said at a press conference in Kyiv on Dec. 17.

The premier is follower by her principal rival in the presidential race, Regions Party Leader Victor Yanukovych, while incumbent President Victor Yushchenko ranks third.

Fourth place is occupied by the co-owner of Ukraine’s largest holding, System Capital Management, Rinat Akhmetov.

He is followed by two other business tycoons – the founder of the East-one company and the eponymous foundation, Viktor Pinchuk, and Privat Group co-owner Ihor Kolomoisky, who rank fifth and sixth respectively.

According to Hlazkova, head of the presidential secretariat Vira Ulyanchenko is seventh. The eighth and ninth places are occupied by Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn and Kyiv Mayor Leonid Chernovetsky respectively.

Banker and presidential candidate Sergey Tigipko rounds off the top ten most influential Ukrainians, which is a breakthrough for the politician, who ranked 48th in last year’s rating by the magazine, Hlazkova said.
