A lawyer, auditor and state tax authority for many years, she dived into a presidential race for the first time in her career. Not even likely to get 1 percent voter support, Bohoslovska was a member of Victor Yanukovych’s Party of Regions in 2007-2008 before going solo, and had before that been allied with Victor Pinchuk, the Ukrainian billionaire and son-in-law to ex-president Leonid Kuchma. Therefore, some analysts explain her role in the elections as stripping votes away from their longtime archrival, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.
