Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said on Sunday she was ready to start talks with former presidential candidates to gain their support in a second round of voting for president.

Exit polls from Sunday's election showed she was between 4 to 11 percent behind opposition leader Viktor Yanukovich -- a margin smaller than previous opinion polls had indicated.

"As of today, I am ready for talks so that we can move forward with uniting the democratic forces," she told journalists.
