Tbilisi, January 18 (Interfax) - Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze has expressed regret over the detention of Georgian election observers and the beating of Georgian journalists in Ukraine.

"All the Georgian election observers in Ukraine are representatives of the parliament, municipal authorities, governmental agencies and non-governmental organizations. We are ready to supply Ukrainian colleagues with comprehensive information [about the observers]," she said.

"No matter which candidate wins the presidential election [in Ukraine], Tbilisi hopes that Georgia and Ukraine will retain amicable relations of strategic partnership," she noted.
