Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn has said that the adoption of amendments to the law on the presidential election demonstrates there is mutual distrust among Ukrainian politicians, although the amendments themselves will not lead to falsification of the results of the election, if election commissions fulfill their obligations properly.

"The fact of consideration of this issue proves that Ukrainian politicians, and first of all, the finalists in the election campaign, don’t trust each other and are trying to find ways not to have an election, but to deceive each other," the press service of Lytvyn cited him as saying.

The speaker noted that according to the legislation, the presidential candidates form election commissions on an equal basis and a commission decision requires two-thirds of the votes of its members.
