Six people rushed into the building of the polling station at about 0730 and beat members of the commission and observers, one person with head injuries was sent to hospital. Lviv, February 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) - An attack was made on polling station No. 61 of district No. 117 in Lviv region, Petro Pysarchuk, the chief of the headquarters of Regions Party's leader Victor Yanukovych in Lviv region, told Interfax-Ukraine.

"Six people rushed into the building of the polling station at about 0730 and beat members of the commission and observers, one person with head injuries was sent to hospital," he said.

According to Pysarchuk, the attackers were sent by head of the BYT headquarters in Lviv region Ivan Denkovych, because members of the election commission had been in a dispute for the whole night over a ballot box that hadn't been sealed properly.

A source in the law enforcement agencies told Interfax-Ukraine that an incident took place at the polling station.

At the same time, the police reported that four members of the commission, two from each candidate, were involved in a brawl and as a result, one of them was sent to hospital. At present representatives of the law enforcement agencies are working at a site of the incident. The ballots are being counted at the polling station.

Head of the BYT headquarters in Lviv region Ivan Denkovych hasn't commented on the situation yet.
