Ukraine's opposition leader Victor Yanukovych claimed a slender win in a presidential election on Feb. 8, but bitter rival Yulia Tymoshenko refused to concede.

Tymoshenko denied Yanukovych victory in a 2004 rigged election through mass protests that she led. She has threatened to challenge the result in court or bring her supporters out on the street again if there is any evidence of fraud.

The following are the latest results issued by the commission.


Yanukovych 48.94 percent 12.470 million

Tymoshenko 45.48 percent 11.587 million

Against both candidates 4.36 percent 1.111 million



Pct of the vote counted 99.94 percent 25.475 million

Turnout 69.14 percent
