BYT: Regions Party wants to see Tymoshenko continue as premier
Feb 9, 2010 at 18:54 | Interfax-Ukraine"I think that Regions Party MPs would be happy if Yulia Tymoshenko remains premier if they manage to put [Regions Party leader Victor] Yanukovych in the presidential post," the BYT press service quoted him as saying on Tuesday.
Sobolev said that in such a case, the Regions Party would be able to "criticize the premier for economic figures and be pleased they had assumed such a good position."
Tymoshenko has headed the Cabinet of Ministers since Dec. 18, 2007. She also held the post of premier from February to September 2005.
According to preliminary results, Tymoshenko came second in the presidential election this year.
We remind that on election night Feb. 7, after the first exit polls were announced, Yanukovych said that Yulia Tymoshenko should resign.
