Sergiy Tigipko, who came third in the first round of Ukraine's presidential election on Jan. 17, would have left his opponents behind if he won through to the run-off, according to the results of an exit poll initiated by the ICTV Channel and conducted by pollster GfK NOP.

If Tigipko and Yulia Tymoshenko won through to the run-off presidential election, they would have collected 42.9% and 27% of the vote respectively, the channel's press service reported on Tuesday.

If Tigipko and Viktor Yanukovych won through to the run-off presidential election, they would have garnered 43.1% and 31.6% of the vote respectively.

A total of 21,635 respondents were interviewed during the exit poll. Some 13.1% of those polled declined to participate in the poll.

As a result, the gap between Tigipko and Tymoshenko would have been 15.9% and between Tigipko and Yanukovych 11.5%.
