Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has said that the protection of the country from the financial and economic collapse amid the global crisis is the main achievement of the work of the government she leads.
"I think that the main result of the leadership of our team was the fact that we protected Ukraine from a complete collapse of the financial and economic sector in a situation in which the global crisis affected the world and hit every country," she said from the parliament’s rostrum on Mar. 3.
Tymoshenko said that her team had maintained social standards.
"We have fundamentally strengthened Ukraine’s energy independence for the first time in the years of the work of [Ukraine’s] government," she said.
"We have preserved and strengthened the independence of our country," Tymoshenko said.
She said that the conduct of anti-state and anti-Ukrainian policies had started after Viktor Yanukovych’s election as Ukrainian president.
