Borys Kolesnikov and Viktor Tykhonov have been appointed deputy prime ministers in the Ukrainian government led by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.

The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, approved the new cabinet at a meeting on March 11.

Tykhonov was born in the village of Schotove, Antratsyt district, Luhansk region, on March 5, 1949. He has been a Regions Party MP since 2006. From 1998 to 2006, he headed Luhansk Regional Council.

Kolesnikov was born in the town of Mariupol, Donetsk region, on October 25, 1962. He has been a Regions Party MP since 2006. In 1999-2006, he served as deputy head and head of Donetsk Regional Council.
