Tymoshenko calls on opposition to unite

Yulia Tymoshenko has called on a democratic opposition to unite.

She said this in an open address released by the press service of the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko on Monday.

"We had a bad experience of discord in power in one democratic team when people, who have by definition the same ideas and the same ideological principles and view of the development of the Ukrainian state, began to fight between each other. This finally led to the fact that a full-scale revenge by oligarchs is currently being seen in the country," reads the statement.

Tymoshenko called on all politicians and the leaders of opposition forces to refrain from mutual insults and disputes.

"We have the same business and the same strategic goal - Ukraine's protection," she said.

She said that "one should have the courage to admit the mistakes of confrontation between the democratic forces."

"I'm convinced that Ukraine will have a democratic government and a decent life in a short period of time. We should currently work and act together for the sake of this. And the first step is constructive cooperation between the opposition democratic forces," the statement says.
