Kyiv, March 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Viktor Sheibut has been appointed acting chairman of the State Tax Administration of Ukraine and head of tax police.

A statement posted on the administration's Web site says that Ukrainian First Vice Premier Andriy Kliuyev introduced the new head of the administration to its staff on March 17.

"Viktor Sheibut is familiar with the work of the tax service, as he has already worked in the structure of the Ukrainian State Tax Administration," Kliuyev said.

The statement reads that Kliuyev also thanked Serhiy Buriak for his successful work at the post of the head of the State Tax Administration.

In the late 1990s, Sheibut served as chief of the department for fighting corruption in the agencies of the state tax service.
