Statements on the dismissal of Ukrainian Education and Science Minister Dmytro Tabachnyk are of a political nature, Regions Party faction leader Oleksandr Yefremov has said.

"Dmytro Tabachnyk works as minister only four days. It is quite natural, and everybody understands that this process is more political in nature and it is profitable for the political forces to exaggerate it at the moment," he said in an interview with Channel 5 on Thursday evening, while commenting on the statement by representatives of the Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense faction on the need to dismiss Tabachnyk.

"I think that this man is quite prepared to do his job at the post of education minister," Yefremov said.

He said that the problems being currently seen in the field of education were quite serious.

"So we should not arrange a show and conduct rallies. We should bring elementary order to ensure that education gains the role it should perform in a normal society," Yefremov said.
