Ukrainian Education and Science Minister Dmytro Tabachnyk has said he will not resign if students go on a hunger strike.

He said this live on Channel 5 onMarch 18evening.

Asked whether he will submit his letter of resignation if students go on a hunger strike, Tabachnyk said: "No, I won't."

As reported, the rectors of Ukraine's leading higher educational establishments, scientists, educational and cultural figures on March 18 supported Tabachnyk's appointment as education and science minister and described a propaganda campaign against his activity at this post as speculation by "certain political forces."
