Cabinet of Ministers creates nine government committees

The government of Ukraine has created nine government committees: a committee for reforms headed by Premier Mykola Azarov, a committee for the development of economic branches headed by First Vice Premier Andriy Kliuev and another seven committees headed by seven profile vice premiers.

According to cabinet resolution No. 460 of March 17, the previously published list, consisting of eight committees, was extended with a committee for economic policy. Vice Premier Sergiy Tigipko was appointed head of this committee.

Each committee consists of 9-11 members, apart from the committee for the environment, youth policy, sports and tourism, consisting of 12 members, and the committee for preparing for and holding the Euro 2012 European Football Championship in Ukraine, which has 14 members.

The cabinet also approved a committee for national security, defense, law enforcement activities and the work of military and industrial enterprises, a committee for regional policy, construction and the housing and utilities sphere, a committee for agriculture policy, and a committee for humanitarian, social, scientific and innovational development.
