Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko (BYT) MP Petro Kuzmenko has joined the parliamentary coalition, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn announced at the morning session of parliament on Wednesday.

"I announce that Ukrainian MP Petro Pavlovych Kuzmenko has joined the Stability and Reform coalition of deputy factions in the Verkhovna Rada of the sixth convocation," he said.

Kuzmenko headed the campaign headquarters of presidential candidate Yulia Tymoshenko in Cherkasy region in the 2010 presidential election.

On March 11, 2010, Lytvyn declared the creation of the Stability and Reform coalition consisting of 235 MPs. The coalition was formed by factions of the Regions Party, the Bloc of Lytvyn, the Communist Party of Ukraine, along with six MPs each from the Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense Bloc and the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko, and four independent MPs.

On March 30, the coalition was expanded by three MPs – two from the BYT faction and one from the Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense Bloc.

The total number of coalition members now is 239.
