The Ukrainian Communist Party does not see a way to realize its program, which the party hoped to protect jointly with the Party of Regions, according to Leonid Hrach, first secretary of the Crimean Republican Committee of the Ukrainian Communist Party.

"We expected that the winner [of the president election] Viktor Yanukovych [would fulfill] some theses of the Communist Party’s program in part of rapprochement with Russia through the joining the Customs Union, development of Common Economic Space and settling of the language problem," he said on the TBi TV channel.

"The third direction meant that Ukraine would not approach NATO. These tactical moments prompted us to support [Yanukovych]…Now we see and understand that the first, second and third directions are not seen in the president’s actions," he said.
