Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has appointed the governors of the Kirovohrad, Sumy, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy and Ternopil regional state administrations.

The decrees to that effect were posted on the official Web site of the Ukrainian president on Tuesday, April 6.

Serhiy Larin was appointed governor of Kirovohrad region, Yuriy Chmyr governor of Sumy region, Volodymyr Demishkan governor of Vinnytsia region, Serhiy Tulub governor of Cherkasy region, and Yaroslav Sukhy governor of Ternopil region.

All of the newly appointed regional governors are Regions Party MPs.

As reported, Yanukovych on April 6 dismissed Serhiy Kunitsyn as Sevastopol mayor, Oleksandr Dombrovsky as Vinnytsia regional governor, Mykola Lavryk as Sumy regional governor, Volodymyr Movchan as Kirovohrad regional governor, and Yuriy Chyzhmar as Ternopil regional governor.

All of the decrees to that effect were signed on April 6. They all were dismissed due to the end of the term of office of the former Ukrainian president, Viktor Yuschenko.
