You're reading: Tymoshenko: ‘I stopped being afraid of these guys a long time ago’

Over the last week, the Constitutional Court has become a hot spot on Ukraine’s political map. After Yulia Tymoshenko made a statement on March 29 regarding pressure being put on CC judges by Viktor Yanukovych’s team, the new government resorted to political persecution, opting for its favorite method – a summons to see the Prosecutor General.

"They’ve started to take action against me. After I held the press conference and revealed what I knew about the corruption taking place in the Constitutional Court and how the judges are being pressured by Yanukovych’s team to adopt an unconstitutional decision prior to his trip to the US, during the Easter holidays I received a letter informing me that I’m being summoned to the Prosecutor General’s Office. They’re trying to put pressure on me for releasing information about what’s going on in the Constitutional Court and to scare me," said Yulia Tymoshenko.
