The Forward, Ukraine! Party has sent an official letter to the Justice Ministry on changing its name, the ministry's press service has reported on Tuesday.
According to the report, the party’s new name is the People’s Self-Defense Political Party. A relevant decision was taken at the ninth congress of the Forward, Ukraine! Party on February 26, 2010.
The party also changed the location of its central office. It is now located at 10a Lesia Ukrainka Boulevard in Kyiv.
Oleh Novikov (the OU-PSD faction) is continuing to fulfill the duties of party chairman.
The Justice Ministry considered the information and amended the register of political parties in Ukraine, the party’s press service reported. A new certificate was issued to the party in connection with the change of its name and address. Justice Minister Oleksandr Lavrynovych signed a relevant decree.
The Forward, Ukraine! Party was registered by the Justice Ministry on May 13, 1999 and was included on the register of political parties as No.51.
