You're reading: Cabinet dismisses Deputy Coal Minister Chernuha

The Ukrainian government has dismissed Yuriy Chernuha as a deputy coal minister, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Anatoliy Tolstoukhov has told reporters.

The Cabinet of Ministers took a relevant decision at government meeting on Wednesday, Tolstoukhov said. Chernuha had held the post of deputy coal minister since April 2010.

Coal Minister Yuriy Yaschenko now has one first deputy coal minister, Yuriy Cherednychenko, and four deputies – Volodymyr Fichov, Ihor Popovych, Oleksiy Pshenychka, and Leonid Dudka.

Ukraine saw coal extraction fall by 7% in 2009 compared to 2008, to 72.22 million tonnes. Coking coal extraction went down by 4.3%, to 25.494 million tonnes, and power coal production fell by 8.4%, to 46.725 million tonnes.
