Walid Harfouche, deputy head the Ukrainian National State Television Company [UT-1], said in an interview on July 29 that he believes UT-1 should report on the activities of the authorities only in a positive light.

"There is a lot of talk about creating a public television station, and some say that UT-1 should not be connected with the authorities. But I think UT-1 should should be partisan in favor of the authorities," Harfouche was quoted as telling the Ukrainian news agency UNIAN.
