Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has signed a decree to eliminate the Zhytomyr, Zaporizhia, Luhansk and Kyiv regional economic courts of appeals.

At the same time, under decree No. 811 of August 12, which was posted on the Web site of the head of state, Rivne economic court of appeals was established and the region’s state administration was charged with providing the court with premises.

Thus, a total number of economic courts of appeals were reduced from 11 to 8.

According to the decree, Kyiv and Cherkasy regions were added to the territorial jurisdiction of Kyiv economic court of appeals, Poltava region to Kharkiv court, and Luhansk and Zaporizhia to Donetsk court.

Rivne court of appeals will consider cases from five regions: Vinnytsia, Volyn, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytsky and Rivne regions.

The definition of the network of economic courts is approved with new wording, which apart from courts of appeal, includes the Higher Economic Court in Kyiv and 26 economic courts of the regions, Crimea, Kyiv city and Sevastopol city. At the same time, the existing economic court of Volyn region was not included on the list for some reason.
