During a meeting in Kyiv with foreign ambassadors on Sept. 6, opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko said authorities are preventing her Fatherland [Batykyvshchyna] Party from taking part in local elections in several regions.
"Our political party has been practically kept out of the political battle in four oblasts – Kharkhiv, Kyiv, Lviv and Luhansk oblasts," Tymoshenko said.
Local elections are scheduled on Oct. 31. The official election campaign starts on Sept. 11.
