Ukraine is ready to implement projects aimed to reste its merchant shipping fleet jointly with Russia, according to Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.

"We offer our Russian partners to jointly participate in the restoration of our merchant fleets, as we have enough resources for this," he said during a conference "Ukraine: Reforms, Competitiveness, Investments," organized by the Fund for Effective Governance and the Financial Times in Kyiv on Tuesday.

The prime minister also noted that the government of Ukraine considers shipbuilding a priority branch for its future development.

Such a position coincides with the provisions of the draft Tax Code, which proposes to set a zero rate of taxation on the shipbuilding industry for the near ten years, Azarov said.
