The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe's resolution is evidence of Ukraine's advancement in a democratic direction, said Ukrainian Foreign Minster Kostiantyn Hryschenko.
"This resolution provides full proof of the fact obvious to all: democracy has taken deep root in Ukraine," Hryschenko told Interfax, commenting on the PACE resolution on Ukraine.
The discussion of the draft resolution demonstrated that Ukraine has a government capable of working effectively, and an opposition, which can criticize the government, highlighting its errors at home and abroad, he said.
"Ukraine’s future presidency of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers must demonstrate again that Ukraine is a democratic state, and to lift the monitoring procedures, which is very important for us," Hryschenko said.
