Ukrainian power has provided all of the political forces with equal opportunities at the local elections, according to Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov.
"It’s absolutely obvious that all of the political parties participating in the elections have absolutely equal access to the mass media and a possibility to appeal to power bodies and courts. No one hinders them from doing this," Azarov told the press in Kyiv on Saturday.
The premier said that the head of state and he not only spoke about this, but also made certain decisions. He said that this is an instruction to impose a moratorium on checks of the mass media during the election, an instruction to regional administration heads to provide for democratic elections, invitation of international observers and an instruction to the Justice Ministry to check statements on the cancelation of candidates’ registration.
The local elections in Ukraine will take place on October 31.
