The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, will consider the appointment of Viktor Pshonka as prosecutor general at a meeting on Thursday.

The head of the secretariat of the parliamentary committee on legislative support for law enforcement activities, Yaroslav Vasylkevych, told reporters on Wednesday that the committee's decision to propose that parliament give consent to Pshonka's appointment as prosecutor general, which was taken on Wednesday, had already been prepared and submitted to the parliament's secretariat.

Vasylkovych said that on Wednesday the committee's decision would be distributed to MPs for examination.

Asked when the vote on the matter will be held, he said: "Tomorrow."
