You're reading: Kyiv hosts talks on European Union association agreement

Kyiv is hosting a plenary meeting as part of the 17th round of talks between Ukraine and the European Union on the signing of an association agreement, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reported.

During the meeting, the parties will continue to discuss the provisions of the agreement on the preamble, justice, freedom and security, as well as institutional, general and concluding provisions.

The sides will also agree the text of a joint report on talks on signing an association agreement between Ukraine and the EU, which will be approved at the 14th EU-Ukraine summit in Brussels on November 22, 2010.

The Ukrainian delegation at the talks is led by Deputy Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, while the EU delegation is headed by Deputy Director General of the European Commission’s Directorate General for External Relations Hugues Mingarelli.
