The current economic protests by the public will turn into a powerful political protest movement with the participation of opposition forces if the Ukrainian president does not veto the Tax Code, according to the BYT-Batkivschyna faction.

"If President Viktor Yanukovych fails to comply with the demand to veto the Tax Code, there obviously will be every reason for the economic protest to turn into a powerful political protest movement, with the participation of major opposition forces," first deputy chairman of the BYT-Batkivschyna faction Andriy Kozhemiakin said from the parliamentary rostrum on Tuesday.

He recalled that the BYT-Batkivschyna demands the president immediately veto the Tax Code adopted by the Verkhovna Rada.

Kozhem iakin said that the government has shown its incompetence while developing the Tax Code and is responsible for the failure of the budget process. Therefore, the Cabinet of Ministers ought to resign, the MP said.

As reported, on November 22 an indefinite protest action by entrepreneurs started on Independence Square in Kyiv. Ukrainian businessmen are urging the president to veto the law on the Tax Code.
