Ukraine's MPs have voted for hearings on pension reform to be held in the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, in February.

Some 231 out of 257 MPs registered in the parliament hall supported a resolution on the holding of parliamentary hearings dedicated to progress in carrying out of pension reform and ways to improve it.

According to the resolution, parliamentary hearings on the above-mentioned issue will be held in parliament on February 16, 2011.

The Verkhovna Rada approved a resolution ordering the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to prepare and submit to the parliament by January 17, 2011 information and analytical materials on the holding parliamentary hearings, as well as select reporters on this topic. The parliament also ordered the National Television and Radio Company, with the assistance of the information department of the Verkhovna Rada, to ensure, in line with established procedures, the live broadcasting of parliamentary hearings on the First Channel of the National Television Company and the National Radio Company.
