The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, would draw a line under the date of the parliamentary election in February 2011, according to Ukrainian Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn.

"A period in the discussion would be put in the first week of February 2011," he said on Friday in an interview with the Rada television channel, commenting discussions of the politicians on the date of next parliamentary election.

As reported, on November 19, 2010 the parliament preliminary approved amendments to the Constitution, setting the date of next parliamentary election for October 2012 and presidential election for March 2015.

The parliament’s session would start on the first Tuesday of February 2011.
