In a press release posted to her website, former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko thanked the Czech Republic for giving political asylum to former Economy Minister Bohdan Danylyshyn on Jan. 14.

Tymoshenko said the decision indicates that Europe "recognizes the selective use of justice to pursue political opponents."

"I am grateful to all the public figures and statesmen of the European Union and Czech Republic who helped protect Danylyshyn’s freedom, approached the situation in Ukraine with understanding and made a fair decision," Tymoshenko says.
