The Ukrainian People's Party is holding talks on the unification of political forces which share its political platform.

"In accordance with the political decision of the congress to consolidate right-wing parties, the UPP, as one of the largest center-right parties, started negotiations with those parties that have the closest political platform, the Our Ukraine, For Ukraine Party, the Popular Rukh of Ukraine and others," UPP leader and MP Yuriy Kostenko said.

He said this in response to media reports about the talks about unification of the Front for Change, the Civil Position, the European Party of Ukraine and the Sobor Party, the UPP’s press service reported.

"Today there is a historical demand for the formation of right-wing policies in Ukraine, since over the 20 years of the so-called social-liberal reforms of the government, the budget’s revenues have fallen to the lowest level in Europe because of the lack of small and medium enterprises," Kostenko said.

He said he was convinced that it was possible to change policies to ones that benefit national producers only through the establishment of a right-wing majority in parliament and in government.
