Moscow, March 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine has proposed that its enterprises be used to repair equipment and dispose of ammunition of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, Ukrainian Defence Minister Mykhailo Yezhel has said.

"We have discussed the issue of the renewal of technical readiness of the Russian shipboard [equipment], first of all that on the territory of Ukraine," Yezhel told Interfax-Ukraine after the 4th meeting of the security subcommittee of the Ukrainian-Russian intergovernmental commission in Moscow.

According to the minister, the sides plan to draw up a plan for cooperation in this sector.

"We also discussed the issue of the disposal of ammunition of the Russian Black Sea Fleet at the relevant enterprises in Ukraine," Yezhel said.

According to the minister, this was an advantageous proposal for Russia, as there would be no need "to carry ammunition across the whole country."

"We have facilities at [our] enterprises that can dispose ammunition without any problems," the minister said.
