Ten young people are suspected of hurling pieces of metal, broken pieces of brick and an improvised fire bomb, seriously damaging privately owned cars at a parking lot located in the yard of the house no. 98 on Leninsky Avenue in Moscow last night, a source in law enforcement services told Interfax.
The attackers managed to escape.
Police working at the site have found two more improvised explosive devices – one filled with pieces of metal and a fire bomb – that were not detonated.
The explosion of the first fire bomb left a 20-20 centimeter crater.
The attack was most likely staged by members of a radical pro-anarchy group known as Anarchic Gerilya, the source said.
Activists of this group were previously involved in a series of crimes, including the detonation of a powerful fire bomb on the premises of a traffic police outpost at the 22nd kilometer of the Moscow Ring Road three days ago.
A criminal case based on hooliganism charges has been opened following today’s incident.
Official police sources have so far been unavailable for comment.
