Ulan-Ude, August 24 (Interfax) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has said the existing gas agreement between Russia and Ukraine has to be fulfilled, but without ruling out future options in this area that Ukraine ought to tempt Russia with.

"The agreement is valid and must be fulfilled," Medvedev responded to a reporter’s question after meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Il. "If we’re speaking about the future, we are ready to consider different options," Medvedev said.

"But I’ll tell you straight out, let Ukraine interest us, so that it will be interesting for us to think about cooperation in the future," the president said.
