Critic of Chechen president fears for his life
Nov 21, 2009 at 08:35 | Wire reportsIsa Yamadayev wrote an open letter published Friday in the mass-selling Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper, saying he fears those behind the brother's killing are hunting him.
The Yamadayev brothers were fierce rivals of Chechnya's Moscow-backed President Ramzan Kadyrov.
Sulim Yamadayev was shot dead in Dubai in March. He had the rank of colonel in the Russian military. Another brother was gunned down in Moscow in September 2008. He was a former federal lawmaker.
Isa Yamadayev in the letter appealed Medvedev to stop the "crazy conveyor of death."
Kadyrov has previously rejected the allegations of being linked to the killings.
