Yalta - Payments in national currencies between CIS countries were actively discussed at a meeting of the Council of the CIS heads of government in Yalta, Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said.

"During the discussion, everybody paid great attention to an anti-crisis plan, and special emphasis was placed on the use of national currencies in settlements," Kudrin, who presented a report on anti-crisis measures, told journalists.

All the heads of government decided to support this plan, one of the key provisions of which is payments in national currencies in addition to U.S. dollars, he said.

The countries may switch to such payments within the coming years, "on some positions already now and on others in the near future," he said.
